Making Math Accessible, One Learner at a Time
About Math Reach
A nonprofit dedicated to children with math disabilities — and the teachers and families who support them.
Born from a need no one was filling
Math Reach was founded after years of witnessing something troubling: children in Florida experiencing math anxiety at a level unlike anywhere else in the world. Not because they weren’t capable — but because they weren’t being reached.
Our founder’s journey began in Florida education in 2010. After time abroad and a return in 2021, the prevalence of math avoidance among local children was striking. The gap between what students needed and what was available was undeniable.
When math disabilities entered the picture, it became clear: almost no one knew enough about them. That had to change.
“In no other country have I witnessed such widespread anxiety and refusal to engage with math. These children are not failing math — math is failing them.”— Math Reach Founder
Expertise that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the US
British Dyslexia Association — Certified Math Specialist
Our founder undertook rigorous specialist training with the British Dyslexia Association, with an emphasis in dyscalculia. Presently, no equivalent qualification exists in the United States — making this expertise exceptionally rare in Florida.
Classroom educator with proven results
With direct experience as a classroom educator serving students with math disabilities, our founder has seen children gain two to three years of math skills within a single year of specialized 1:1 support.
International perspective
Having worked in education across multiple countries, our founder brings a rare global lens to math learning — recognizing what is unique about Florida’s math anxiety crisis and what evidence-based approaches can address it.
Four pillars of change
Math Reach exists to close the gap between what struggling math learners need and what is currently available — for students, teachers, and families alike.
Support students
Provide specialized 1:1 tutoring for children and teens with math disabilities who would otherwise be unable to access support.
Educate teachers
Equip classroom educators to identify signs of math disabilities and reduce math anxiety — increasing achievement for all learners.
Empower parents
Help parents understand and alleviate their own math anxiety, so they can better support their children at home.
Raise awareness
Build understanding of dyscalculia and math disabilities in a landscape where they remain widely misunderstood and underserved.
Join the mission to make
math accessible
Math is not a gift reserved for a lucky few. With the right support, every child can access it. Help us make that possible.
